Thankfully it actually may have improved shooting so much 22.cal.Įxample would be Go to the range and shoot 100- 200 rds of 22.cal and 10 rds of 380. I will shoot a 380 of occasion, just to mark where my present skill level. I have always stocked well up on 22.cal, Have a number of small barrel pistols, and the LCR22 and can keep my skills up. That has been my game plan for the past two years of this shortage. Put a hogue grip on the 22.cal and you have the same gun, trigger and even round count. Perhaps a more reasonable approach would be to get the Max now and Get the LCP 22.cal and spend time training and Practicing with that gun. I was fortunate to be able to shoot them heavily for over a decade and find my proficiency with them to not have deteriorated very much since I do not shoot them very often now. But now, shooting 380 is almost for the rich. That is a good strategy for good times when you can shoot 380 at a reasonable cost. The Max eventually will come down in price and when that happens I’ll get a second one, break it in, and then use it for carry. Actually, that’s exactly what I intend to do. Smooth and deliberate all the way through.Ĭlick to expand. So I would get the GEN 2 and at the cost now, you can buy two of them. I am not into the high Round count magazines. But for the average owner, that would be a long time down the road for them It was then I made my move to the other guns and never looked back. Then Ruger gave me a kinda of warning that they may not keep it up. And then I just keep sending the range gun back. So I bought TWO and used one for a range gun and the other for carry. If you like the LCP, my belief is to shoot the heck out of them, like any range gun. And I posted in another thread that I had the GEN 2 out the other day and brought a box of American Eagle and a hand picked boy of every kind of 380 you can think of. And the Pico is so easy to clean or even if you have to, be able to change out any part of the gun. One guy said he got 3,000 rds but that seemed a anomaly. I think the most I got out of one was 2,200. Start looking for cracks in the frame, grips etc starting at 1500 rds. In fact very reliable for the many I owned. My gosh, that Pico just never seems to quite, a solid build for sure. And now shooting them is like shooting a 22 mag. That was the way I felt when I first shot one.But shooting small pistols became a hobby of mine.
